Study: Atheists Are Far More Likely to Get Vaccinated Than Any Religious Group

The Pew Research Center has just collated the results of a new study showing that atheists are more likely to get the COVID vaccine than any other demographic – Far more likely than any religious group.

Their research shows that 90% of atheists said they will “definitely” or “probably” get a vaccine or claimed that they’ve already received at least one shot. On the other end of the spectrum, only 54% of white evangelicals say the same thing.

As usual, the cult-like White evangelicals, trail everybody else.

The data shows that only 10% of atheists stated they have no plans to get the vaccine compared to 45% of white evangelicals.

Are we surprised by the findings?

No. Not at all. These answers fall right in line with how the two opposing groups feel about science, medicine, and their understanding of the virus.

Getting the vaccine is a no-brainer when you accept science as your lord almighty, and you understand the protection that the shot provides. (Even then, of course, there are a handful of atheists who will buy into conspiracy theories after watching a 15minute Youtube video.)

The data also indicates what many have known all along – white evangelicals who see science as an enemy of faith, fall for similar nonsense and really don’t trust the government in power to handle the pandemic properly. Ask them a simple science based question such as “How does the virus works,” and many of the answers will range from “sin” to echoing some ridiculous Donald Trump lie.

It certainly won’t be preachers and definitely not politicians who will get us out of this pandemic – it will be cutting edge science and medicine who we will be thanking for getting us out of this awful situation.
