The internet went into meltdown last week when footage surfaced that appeared to show a women taking a tub of ice cream from a store freezer, licking it, and then sneakily placing it back on the shelf for an unsuspecting shopper to buy…

A statement was issued by police in the area stating that they had identified the culprit, with reports that if she is convicted of the second-degree felony of tampering with a consumer product, she could be facing a prison term of between 2 and 22 years!

Now, you might think that this harsh sentence would be enough to deter others from doing something so nasty in the future. Unfortunately, it appears it isn’t…

The internet is once again going crazy over a new video that has recently emerged showing a Walmart shopper gargling mouthwash before spitting it back into the bottle and replacing it back on the shelf.

In the clip, ‘Bameron Nicole Smith’ can be heard saying:

“Girl, it has been one musty f**king morning.”

She then swills the mouthwash, continuing:

“Mmm, nice and minty and fresh. Thank you guys.”

The internet didn’t take long  to respond to this pretty gross act and a torrent of backlash followed suit. The original video was uploaded to Twitter on July 5 with the caption “you b**ches with no oral hygiene could take a hint.” It quickly stacked up over 16.45 million views on Twitter, with over 22,000 likes and 7,000 retweets.

British source the MailOnline contacted Walmart for a statement on the matter. Their response was:

“We are investigating this incident. If someone tampers with a product and leaves it on the shelf, we will work with law enforcement to identify and prosecute those found responsible to the fullest extent of the law.”

The culprit later came clean and uploaded another tweet in which she can be seen holding up a store receipt claiming that she actually did purchase the mouthwash she gargled in the video. Even so, Walmart are set on investigating this matter, so hopefully the truth won’t be long in coming to the fore.

I often sit here completely confused and astounded by this generation’s perception of what is and what isn’t acceptable. After a series of ridiculous recent events, this kind of act just seems completely unnecessary and distasteful to me, even if it is a joke.
